Hill Country Comicon
A New Braunfels comic con that promotes art, literacy, and imagination through pop culture, bringing well-known talent to inspire the next generation.
Hill Country Comicon is a spring comic convention in New Braunfels, between San Antonio and Austin on I-35. Its stated mission is to promote fun, art, literacy, and imagination through pop culture and comics, and to bring well-known talent to the Hill Country to inspire the next generation. It’s an approachable, community-scale show that’s especially good for younger fans.
When it happens
The main convention runs in March at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center. The 2026 edition was March 14–15. The organizers also run the Gemini Cards & Collectibles Show (June 6–7, 2026). The 2027 comicon dates haven’t been announced.
Tips
- New Braunfels is about 30 minutes from both San Antonio and San Marcos, an easy day trip.
- Spring break traffic on I-35 can be heavy in mid-March, so leave extra time.
